Abstract

Sometimes, we must let ourselves be carried by the tide. As William Shakespeare once wrote, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." The same principle applies to those of us known as “librarians,” “archivists,” “documentalists,” “content managers,” “data analysts,” and beyond. No matter what label we are given, our core functions remain unchanged.

So, what truly makes the difference? The answer lies in the degree of recognition and acceptance from the society around us. When society fails to see what we see, we are compelled to find new ways to help it perceive the world through our lens.

My own professional journey took me from working as a library assistant to becoming a data and process analyst. Evolution takes time, yet strategic communication and marketing can accelerate that process. Our next destination travels along the tracks of e-government—a train we must board, no matter the cost.
